Participation at the 4th northern German ventilation conference
Within the frame of the DWA´s 4th northern German ventilation conference in Walsrode, Biolab Umweltanalysen GmbH, participated with an interdisciplinary talk on the topic „Analysis of residue on ventilation elements“.
The possibility of using scanning electron microscopy as an efficiant and inexpensive analytic method has been presented on an practical example.
Successful participation in the 6/19 TW A4 ring trail
BIOLAB Umweltanalysen GmbH has successfully participated in the 6/19 TW A4 (other inorganic parameters) ringtrail at the „Institut für Siedlungswasserbau“ of the AQS Baden-Württemberg.
The following parameters were monitored:
- Electric conductivity
- Oxidisability
- TOC
- Selenium
- Antimony
- Arsenic

25th ring trial concerning „contaminated sites“ completed successfully
BIOLAB Umweltanalysen GmbH successfully participated in the 25th ring trail concerning contaminated sites of the „Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung- und prüfung (BAM).
The following organic-chemical soil analyses were examined:
- Determination of polycycclic
aromatic hydrocarbons
- Determination of mineral
oil hydrocarbons
- Determination of elemental-content
after extraction with aqua regia
- Determination of the content of
total cyanide

Inhouse-Seminar bei BIOLAB
On the 20th of September, the seminar „Sampling of waste according to LAGA PN 98 and LAGA M 20” took place at BIOLAB GmbH.
The course contents were: basics, scope of application, requirements, planning/realization/documentation of sampling, quality assurance, practical fieldwork.
After a final exam, all participants acquired the expertise to sample solid waste according to LAGA PN 98 and LAGA M 20. The seminar was organized by the AKUMA Akademie für Umwelt und Management GmbH (“Academy for Environment and Management”), Berlin.
Natural power at BIOLAB
BIOLAB Umweltanalysen GmbH continues to receive certified green electricity, thus promoting the expansion of renewable energies.
Representatives of BS Energy, Braunschweiger Versorgungs-AG & Co.KG., have handed over the corresponding certificate.
BIOLAB Summer Party 2019
On June 14th BIOLAB celebrated the annual Summer Garden Party.
The whole staff enjoyed good food and drinks outside under the huge platanes along with magic and live music and good conversations until the evening hours. And the weather played along.
The only conclusion: next year's Summer Party is a must !
Another new member joins the SEM-section!
In the beginning of May Biolab Umweltanalysen GmbH setups the fourth SEM to face the growing demand for quick and high qualitative asbestos analyses.
It is a Phenom XL desktop scanning electron microscope by the manufacturer Phenom World. The SEM is the fourth generation with the newest type of secondary electron and EDX detector.
It is equipped with a big sample chamber (up to 36 samples), a fast sample change procedure and it is also build for mobile use if required.
BIOLAB passes round robin test for drinking water!
The Drinking Water department of BIOLAB Umweltanalysen GmbH has successfully participated in the volatile halogenated hydrocarbons (VHH)/benzene round robin test of the Institute for Hygiene and Environment of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.
BIOLAB is the 2019 partner company
Instead of giving Christmas presents, BIOLAB Umweltanalysen GmbH this year donated to Ärzte ohne Grenzen e.V. (internationally known as Médecins Sans Frontières or Doctors without Frontiers), making us a partner company for 2019.
BIOLAB counts on solar energy
The installation of a 2,000 m² roof-parallel photovoltaic system has begun on the roofs of BIOLAB Umweltanalysen GmbH.
After commissioning of the 284 kWp (253 MWh/a) plant in the spring of 2019, BIOLAB will be able to generate most of its electricity on its own premises. This will save the environment 151,963 kg of CO2 emissions per year.
